Portfolio Work Samples

Here are a few of the many websites we've created over the years, as samples of the web engineering and web design we've done.

Is Design Enough?

Designers create aesthetic beauty. Engineers build things that work. Developers do both. For a website that works, you need a web developer, not just a designer. Aesthetics are important, but quality web development also includes:

Can your aesthetic web designer deliver all this? We can.

The Best of Both Worlds

If convenience matters most to you, we are happy to handle all aspects of your web project. This saves a little money, because it requires fewer meetings and phone calls; and offers the possibility of a more unified harmonious vision throughout your web development project.

Or if you don't feel that our aesthetic designs offer what you're looking for, you can still get all the advantages described in this website by:

  1. Hiring us to handle your web engineering, and
  2. Hiring the designer of your choice to handle your page design.

Reliable web engineering and full functionality are too important—don't make them an afterthought.

Building Your Own Team

If you were to hire us as your web engineer, and choose another aesthetic designer, let us know who you wish to use as your aesthetic designer early in the project, so that we can coordinate together to meet all your web-related requirements seamlessly. Having two contractors will not substantially increase project costs, because you'd be hiring them for different services, with minimal overlap. (There will be slightly higher project costs with two contractors because a few more meetings and phone calls will be required to coordinate.) But it's important for you to get the service providers you want.

Triskelon would consult with you, then provide the aesthetic designer with screen metrics, a menu, and list of page elements; and the aesthetic designer would add logo, colors, font choices, background images, screen geometry, and so on. The aesthetic designer would deliver a Photoshop layout, and we would then turn it into working HTML/CSS pages.

Use an Existing Page Design?

Have you considered it? Some website owners may not realize they can save several hundred dollars by choosing an existing page design or template, and still look fresh and original to their web visitors. (To keep it fresh and original, and avoid giving the appearance of plagiarism, choose a page design from a website belonging to an organization that is outside your industry and locale, and always write your own fresh content.)

We can model your new website after the design of most any website anywhere on the Internet. Page designs (font choices, colors, and screen geometry) are not copyrightable, although the images and words contained in them may be. (We cannot offer legal advice; please consult legal counsel.) If you choose to use an existing page design, then you don't need to hire an aesthetic designer at all, because the design characteristics are provided within the model you will choose yourself. (This method does not apply to model pages that have inherent copyrighted images or Flash animation that “make” the page design.)

If you decide to go this route, as some of our clients have done, then the web service provider's portfolio isn't relevant as an indicator of aesthetic sensibilities, since the aesthetic sensibilities used in choosing the design for your new website are your own.
